Temporary* solution to the inevitable "MOMMY, I'M HUNGRY!" at 4:30pm. (note, the Ranch dressing dip is a key - but not always necessary) *I say 'temporary' because I'm learning that there is never a trick that will work everyday or for an extended period of time. As a parent, you always have to be refreshing your toolbox.
Here's what I love about this tactic:
-the kids are eating their veggies.
-at dinner, I can serve MORE veggies and not feel bad if they don't eat a ton
-I get some peace to actually MAKE dinner
-I might even have a veggie or two while I'm waiting for dinner to cook
(instead of soda or sweets)
-All of the above make me feel good about myself

I'm sure many of you have other simple things you do for your kids or yourself that just make you feel good. Want to share?
