The Heart Song

It's 9am and already I've thrown a full-blown adult temper tantrum. I have no excuses for myself. In short: Everyone was crying/whining and I decided that yelling/locking myself in a room was a good way to respond. So you see, now you have proof that it's not always doughnuts and veggies over here.

So, we decided to go to the YMCA.

Thank heavens for the Y. I know it sounds a little man-ish, but I needed to blow off some steam. I actually tried out some free weights after my regular work-out, which I don't think I've touched since high school gym class.

On the way over, we were all kind of grumpy. I turned on the radio to break the awkward silence that sometimes happens between a 30-year-0ld, a 4-year-old, an almost 3-year-old and a one-year-old. As soon as the music started playing, we all couldn't help but smiling. It was Ben's favorite song. He calls it "The Heart Song." Can you guess what it is?

Well, here's the YouTube Music Video of Ben's favorite song. I hadn't watched it before just now, but it's clean. Great song, great artist, but the video is a little lame (of course I think most music videos are) - there is a part that I loved though: a bunch of white ceramic dishes being thrown against a wall and breaking into a huge mountain of broken dishes. Why do I like it? Because I've always wanted a "dish-breaking" room to go blow off steam. Like I said - Thank heavens for the YMCA.

Do you have your guess? In case you don't want to watch the video, I'll just tell you what "The Heart Song" is. You ready? "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele. Enjoy.

Oops and I almost forgot. As we were leaving the Y, Aubrey was sad. I asked her what would make her happy. She replied, "The Heart Song."

  1. I love how you are so honest in the things you write! :)
I'll keep my eyes open at DI for some cheap china worthy to carry the title of "temper shattered".

  3. I heard the song on the radio a few months ago, and snatches of it stuck in my head so bad that I had to go looking for it online to get it out of my head. Is it the drum-heart-beat that hooks us and draws us in? It isn't the lyrics, because I hardly ever understand song lyrics until I see them written.
